Cheltenham's Odejayi heading north

More than once I've seen one of the Sunday gossip columns linking us to a player only to find out that he's on his way to Barnsley, and needless to say there have been similar occurrences the other way round.

Now it looks as though it might just have happened again. Cheltenham Town striker Kayode Odejayi could be heading to the Championship after an unknown club made an offer for him. Odejayi already has a link with the Clarets, he's the cousin of Ade Akinbiyi, but is that as far as the link goes?

Cheltenham Chairman Paul Baker has confirmed that they have received an offer for the striker, and he also said that he hoped that the player would remain with the Whaddon Road club. Initially he said it was an unnamed club but more recent reports suggest he has claimed not to have accepted Barnsley's offer.

So are we interested in signing the striker who netted thirteen League One goals last season or is it Barnsley or is it both of us? At this stage it looks very much as though someone's got their wires crossed again with the two clubs and it does look as though it is Barnsley and not Burnley who have made the offer.
