The New England Patriots Cheerleaders in action

The singing section will be introduced next season and already the club are holding interviews and auditions for club drummers to enhance the area which will be situated in blocks NU2 & NU3 of the Longside Upper.

It is only part of the story and the club are ready to set up their own cheerleader group in the style so often seen in the United States. The club's joint operational director Brendan Flood moved quickly when he heard that NFL team New England Patriot's cheerleaders were competing in a competition in England and they will join the fun on the day of the last home game of the season against Cardiff.

The family village will be hosting children throughout the day. There will be many different activities and all children will get the opportunity to have their faces painted and will be presented with clapsticks, a kazoo and a Kyle Lafferty mask. There will also be kazoos available for all fans to help generate some noise during exciting periods of the game.

Inside the ground, those New England Patriot girls will perform on the pitch for the first time at around 2:15 p.m. just as the replacement Burnley FC blimp is raised, this time more securely tethered. There is also likely to be a return for the woman in the balloon, her last visit really excited the crowd.

Discussions are ongoing right now and other entertainment is planned, but at this stage it is felt that it might not be the best idea to bring back Chico. Still there will be sing-a-longs for the fans with the words displayed on the big screen. Just join in but not with any slogans such as 'Unsie's going to get ya!'.

Flood said at the beginning of the season that he wanted to try different ideas to give Burnley fans full entertainment. This will be a big day and will give people some idea of what to expect at games next season.
