Chappy joins the Clarets international set

Richard Chaplow - in the England Under-20 squad
Danny Coyne is in the Welsh squad that have two games as they take on England and Poland respectively on 9th and 13th October. The England game is at Old Trafford whilst it is back to the Millennium Stadium for the game against Poland.

He’s twice had to pull out of the Welsh squad recently because of injury problems but the oxygen chamber has done its job and he will link up with his international colleagues for Mark Hughes’ last two games in charge.

Micah Hyde is on his travels again – he will be playing in Panama City next Saturday as Jamaica take on Panama in their World Cup qualifier and four days later will be back in Jamaica as they play the return against El Salvador in Kingston.

The Reggae Boyz must have some top defenders if they can afford to leave Frank Sinclair out of the squad and the same must be said of Northern Ireland with Michael Duff again missing out, he is just on standby.

He could still be on the plane to Baku as the Irish take on Azerbaijan before returning to Belfast to play Austria.

Loan player Richard Duffy has the dubious honour of playing at Ewood Park. Like Dimitri Papadopoulos three years earlier he will line up against England Under-21s as they take on Wales. They then go to his first league club Swansea and a match against Poland.

For Chappy it is the chance for a 3rd England cap at another level. He’s already played for the Under-21s and the Under-19s and now it is the Under-20s. He is in the squad for their match against Holland a week on Sunday at Huddersfield’s awfully named Galpharm Stadium with the game kicking off at 12:30 p.m.

Best of luck to all the Clarets who will be keeping the numbers down at Gawthorpe – it is fantastic to see so many Clarets representing their countries. We hope they all make their respective teams, play well, and return back fit and ready to play at Ipswich.
