Chappy fee agreed – he's at the Hawthorns

It all looked dead in the water last week, Barry Kilby said the deal was dead, full stop, and we looked forward to a fit again Chappy turning in some more performances similar to the one he gave us against Liverpool.

All of a sudden the deal was back on even though we were told the clubs were a million miles away and now a fee has been agreed with the player down at West Brom discussing terms which will almost certainly see him become a Baggie by the end of the day.

I find it incredible – both Chairman and manager have said they don’t want him to go and Steve Cotterill made it clear on Saturday after the cup win against Bournemouth. Today though he has said that we didn’t really miss him when he was out injured.

Steve said about the deal, “For a deal of £1.5 million in cash with a sell on clause, it is an excellent deal by the Chairman. We’ve held our nerve right until the last minute although we will miss him around the place.”

He then revealed that the signing of John Oster last week was made because he expected this deal with West Brom could come off.
