Cash strapped Leeds trying to get Chappy on the cheap

All of a sudden new manager Kevin Blackwell is signing players up from here there and everywhere and with Sam Ellis as his assistant it was probably only time before they came knocking on the Turf Moor door.

Ellis has confirmed that they have made a bid for Chappy but it is reported that it is something more of an insult than an offer, apparently around £250,000.

This was rejected by the Clarets as was a second offer which was doubled to around half a million.

Again the Clarets told Leeds there was no chance and in fact it is reported that we are keep to tie the young midfielder down to a longer contract even though there is two years remaining on his current deal.

Managers and coaches often go back to try and get their own players and so it is perhaps no surprise to see Leeds try to get Chappy in this way. Thankfully they have been told there is no chance of getting him.
