Clarke Carlisle - new leader
Very often the man of the match poll and the ratings thread on the message board have the same winners, but for this game they were wildy different with the top two in the poll not even making the top three in the ratings.

Joey Gudjonsson's second half performance won him the man of the match vote. He polled 28.8% of the vote to take the three points, his first points of the season. Robbie Blake was in second place with 20.4% of the vote to claim the two points whilst the single point went the way of Clarke Carlisle who won 9.7% of the vote.

It was good news all the way for Carlisle as he claimed another three points in heading the player ratings. His average rating was an astonishing 8.88 out of 10 and not far behind him in second place was fellow central defender David Unsworth with 8.56, just 0.32 behind Carlisle.

Given the style and positive play of our performance it was perhaps surprising that the two central defenders should take top place, but they stood firm during the Watford barrage as the Clarets took all three points, and both had excellent games.

Wade Elliott was the last point scorer. He took third place with a rating of 8.38, the highest we've had for third place. He's bang in form right now and it was his cross that brought about the opening goal, Andy Gray getting on the end of it to head home at the near post.

The Player of the Year table is now as follows;

32: Clarke Carlisle
31: Robbie Blake
29: Alan Mahon
22: David Unsworth
21: Gabor Kiraly
18: Kyle Lafferty
17: Andy Gray
13: Wade Elliott, Chris McCann & John Spicer
12: Steven Caldwell & Brian Jensen
3: Graham Alexander, Michael Duff & Joey Gudjonsson
2: Ade Akinbiyi & Wayne Thomas
1: Stephen Jordan
