Clarke Carlisle
Clarke Carlisle - into second place
It was a game where defenders dominated in terms of taking the points although Wade Elliott's goal helped him to another couple of points at the top of the league.

Carlisle won the man of the match vote claiming 31.9% of the vote and that was just in front of Wade who received 29.0% of the vote to take second place. Carlisle's fellow defender Stan Varga won his first ever points in this game and was in third place with 15.5% of the vote.

If the defenders came out on top in the man of the match vote then they totally dominated the point s from the player ratings on the message board. Again Carlisle won it with a rating of 8.38 out of 10. Varga came second, and his rating was 7.91, whilst a rating of 7.76 gave left back Jon Harley third place.

The latest points have taken Carlisle above Robbie Blake into second place and he now sits 13 points behind leader Wade Elliott., and another top performance from the central defender today could just start to put Wade's lead under some pressure. Jon Harley remains seventh in the table whilst Varga comes in for the first time with his first three points after joining the Clarets in January on loan ahead of the cup tie against Arsenal.
