Carlisle back and in top form

Clarke Carlisle
It was hardly the best of games to come into after over a month out of the side but he turned in an excellent performance at the back as we kept a clean sheet against all the odds in the gale force winds.

That gave Clarke first place in both the man of the match vote and the player ratings on the message board. He was a comfortable winner of the man of the match, polling 37.4% of the vote. Behind him in second place was goalscorer Christian Kalvenes with 26.2% and in third place came Kevin McDonald who polled 10.8% of the vote. All three players had returned to the side for this game.

And all three collected points in the player ratings. Again Carlisle was the winner with a rating of 8.25 out of 10. His central defensive partner Steven Caldwell came second with a rating of 7.50 and in joint third place were Kalvenes and McDonald, both with a rating of 7.13 out of 10.

That gives Carlisle six points towards the Player of the Year, whilst there are three points for Kalvenes and two points each for Caldwell and McDonald.

Those points haven't made any change to the top of the table where Martin Paterson still leads Robbie Blake by four points with Brian Jensen, Chris Eagles and Chris McCann not far behind.
