Carlisle back, and in form

Clarke Carlisle
In both our man of the match poll and player ratings on the message board he came out on top after an outstanding performance at the back alongside captain Steven Caldwell. He won the man of the match poll with 27.8% of the vote and that's his fifth man of the match, but the first since the Leicester game at the Crisp Bowl when Steve Davis was caretaker manager.

Ade Akinbiyi took second place after another impressive performance up front on his return from illness, claiming that second place with 15.4% of the vote whilst 12.6% was enough to give Wade Elliott third place.

In the player ratings there were two different players in the top three behind Clarke who was again the winner with a rating of 7.80 out of 10. The thirty minute cameo from Mark Randall impressed everyone and his rating of 7.34 gave him second place whilst Carlisle's defensive partner Steven Caldwell took third place with a rating of 7.03.

Carlisle was in the lead for a while in the player of the year table but for some weeks, whilst out of the side, has been in joint third place. These six points take him clear third and just two points behind second place Robbie Blake. Meanwhile Wade Elliott is now twenty points clear at the top of the table.
