Cap number 30 for Vokes

Last updated : 18 November 2013 By Tony Scholes

He was on the bench for their home friendly against Finland at Cardiff but replaced Charlton's Simon Church on 63 minutes, five minutes after Wales had gone in front with an Andy King header.

They were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw because of a late equaliser from Finland's Riku Riski which ended hopes of Chris Coleman getting a win just hours after he'd signed a new deal to continue as the Welsh coach.

Vokes has now won nine Welsh caps since becoming a permanent Burnley player in the summer of 2012. He became our seventh Welsh international and those nine caps leave him one short of Danny Coyne, who won ten with the Clarets, before facing the task of trying to catch Leighton James (23 with Burnley) and Brian Flynn (34 with Burnley) as our most capped Welsh international.

This latest Vokes cap has been added to the INTERNATIONALS feature.
