Camara signs for Celtic

Camara was released by Burnley boss Steve Cotterill at the end of last season after they couldn’t agree terms, this after Camara said he really wanted to continue playing for Burnley.

His form certainly dipped again after it became clear he wasn’t going to sign a deal and it was also at that time that Ipswich made an offer for him. It came as no surprise to see him leave at the end of the season.

There had been talk about a move to Celtic and that finally became the case this evening after he passed his medical this afternoon and Strachan was delighted with his first signing saying, “He’s got pace, he’s got enthusiasm and he’s got experience now.

“Tom O’Neill watched him for a long time last season and Tom put a lot of positive ticks where the ticks were needed. I’ve seen him a few times and think we’ve come to an agreement that if we can sign someone of this quality on a Bosman, we have got to take it.”

Camara said, “The Celtic fans might be saying what is happening if we are signing players from clubs like Burnley. All I can tell them is they have got a hungry player desperate to show the fans and the manager how good he can be.”
