The game played at Gawthorpe saw Caldwell grab his first goal since signing for the Clarets on the last day of January this year, getting Burnley's goal in a 1-1 draw. He's been back in training a while and came through this game without problem and could well be back in the first team this Saturday at Ipswich.

Also in the side were Stephen Jordan, who returned on Saturday, and John Spicer who hasn't played since being substituted at Leicester in mid-November. Goalkeeper Brian Jensen also started along with Steve Jones and Ade Akinbiyi with the rest of the side made up of trialists.

Manager Owen Coyle was delighted with Caldwell's return and said: "Steven came through today's game without any problems and now we just have to wait and see if there is any reaction. Obviously it is great news, especially after seeing him get on the goal trail."
