Caldwell is at Bolton, but ....

Steven Caldwell
Caldwell was released at the end of last season, a season that had been an injury ravaged one for him. Wigan were the first club to be linked with him and they were followed by Preston who are keen to sign him.

The appointment of Steve Cotterill as Portsmouth manager gave rise to suggestions that Caldwell might join him on the south coast but that appears unlikely at this stage.

That left the promotion winning skipper without a club with pre-season looming and he's joined Bolton for fitness reasons until he gets fixed up with a new club.

Meanwhile, it is expected that another former member of the Turf Moor staff will be confirmed there soon. Bolton have removed physio Nick Worth from their staff list, but as yet have not replaced him with Andy Mitchell. That appears to be only a matter of time with Mitch already believed to be there.
