Graham Barrow - happy with draw
The tie has been scheduled for the Tuesday, 24th August kicking off at 7:45 p.m. as the Clarets set off on what is hoped will be another successful cup run.

It might be another away tie for the Clarets but our opponents could not be happier with the draw. “The draw could not be better for us,” a delighted Bury boss Graham Barrow told his club’s web site.

“I don’t think you could pick many better games in terms of the rivalry between Bury and Burnley. It’s an attractive draw for the supporters but we know it will be tough against a team from two divisions higher.

“With Steve Cotterill taking over at Burnley, he will have them well drilled and they will be up for it.”

I’m not sure where Barrow has conjured up this rivalry but he is right that the new Burnley boss will have his team fired up and he will also be hoping that history will not repeat itself.

Two years ago, as Stoke boss he had his one and only match in this competition at Gigg Lane. Stoke were on the wrong end of a 1-0 scoreline with a goal from Jamie Stuart.

They ended the game with ten men as Brynjar Gunnarsson, recently signed by Watford, was sent off twelve minutes from the end.
