Burnley looking to sign Holden

Holden, aged 24, was born in Aberdeen but has spent most of his life in Texas and became an American citizen in 2006. That was after he'd spent a period with Sunderland. He failed to get into the first team and cut short his time in England after being beaten up in a night club.

He played for Clemson Tigers prior to going to Sunderland but signed for the Houston team on his return to the USA from the North East of England.

He's been capped by the USA at Under-20, Under-23 and full level. He's won twelve full caps for his adopted country, scoring twice, and is hoping to be part of their World Cup squad in South Africa.

He's expected to tell his club that he's ready to move on with Blackburn Rovers our main rivals for his signature.
