Burnley keen on teenager Stokes

This one, I have to say, looks very unlikely. Stokes cost the Wearside club no less than £2 million when they signed him from the Gunners in January 2007 as they boosted their squad for a promotion push that ended with them clinching the Championship title.

He's not been a massive success there and to date has started only fifteen league games and has been used more often on the bench. He's scored only three times for them with his only Premier League goal coming in a 1-0 home win against Derby.

Stokes built something of a reputation for himself in the first half of the 2006/07 season when he went to Falkirk on loan and scored an incredible 14 goals in 16 SPL games for them plus two more in two League Cup games.

That prompted Roy Keane to move for him and although he's likely to be through the exit door this summer it is believed he could be heading for Celtic as part of a deal that will bring Aiden McGeady to the Stadium of Light in a record fee.

Again, no confirmation from either club, just the usual tabloid speculation that has been so prevalent this summer. This one though has to be one of the most unlikely.
