The 30-year-old Finnish striker joined Chelsea from HJK Helsinki in 1998 but in five years there spent much of his time out on loan at Crystal Palace (twice), Borussia Mönchengladbach and Birmingham (twice) before making a permanent move to Birmingham in 2005 in a £3 million deal.

He struggled at St. Andrew's once the move had been made permanent, firstly for form and then with a serious injury and eventually moved on to Hannover 96 where he's been for the last three seasons.

Forssell has also won no less than 74 caps for his native FInland and is now available on a free transfer with his contract at Hannover at an end with Burnley being linked with him this morning.

Forssell scored a total of 51 goals whilst in England, and that includes two at Turf Moor in the 2000/01 season when he netted for Crystal Palace in both the League Cup and in the league.
