Burnley hope to sign Facey

Facey arrived at the Turf back at the beginning of September along with midfielder Gareth Farrelly as Glen Little made a temporary move in the opposite direction. Stan brought to an end Glen’s stay in Horwich when he called him back during an injury crisis and earlier this week he decided he had seen enough of Farrelly and sent him back.

But Facey remains and it now looks as though we will sign him if at all possible. "Delroy is injured at the moment, but he's here until the end of the month and I'll see where we can go from there," said Stan.

"His age is in his favour and he is out of contract at the end of the season, but I'm still unsure where Bolton are coming from. I would like to extend his stay and I've had a chat with Sam, who has to decide what he wants to do.

"Then, of course, the most important person in the equation is Delroy himself and what he wants to do. It is no secret I want him, but we'll just have to see."

It wall all come down to whether Bolton are looking at offering the player a new contract, if so then we have no chance of getting him because he is too old to have his loan converted to a long term loan. But if Bolton are to release him anyway at the end of the season it is perhaps possible that we can do a deal with them and take his contract on with Bolton still contributing towards his wages.

He missed Saturday’s game through injury and had not been in particular good form following his run of scoring five goals in three games. Those goals are the only ones he has scored in fourteen league and cup goals for the Clarets.

There is no urgency to get a deal done this week but if Stan wants to keep him at the Turf beyond next week then he will have to sign for us on a permanent basis.
