Burnley forwards in Championship demand

Steven Thompson - linked with a loan move to QPR
Last week Robbie Blake was, according to some sources, on his way to Preston having lost his place in the Burnley team. Yesterday he was back in the starting line up but this morning it is Barnsley who are interested in signing him according to a scribe who had difficulties with his Moses and Joshua earlier this week.

The Tykes are in mid table and were beaten at Reading yesterday. They have been on the look out for a forward with no player having scored more than four league goals for them this season.

Meanwhile, that strangest of clubs QPR are supposedly keen to take Steven Thompson on loan. Like Barnsley, they are sat in mid table in the Championship and they too were beaten 1-0 yesterday, at home to Scunthorpe.

Mick Harford is currently in charge at Loftus Road, but he's had a long run in charge of over two weeks so there could be a change on the cards.

Brian Laws did say he would let some of his fringe players go out on loan once new signings had come in. Following the signing of Danny Fox on Friday we immediately let Brian Easton go back to Hamilton until the end of the season.

Robbie and Thommo are hardly fringe players. Both played a part yesterday and I'd be surprised to see either of them playing Championship football next week.
