It's been yet another fast and furious season at Burnley Football Club, with many highs and lows. 6 games are all that's left and we find ourselves in 11th place with 4 points separating us from a gateway to the Premier League.
Many people think we are out of it, that there is not a chance we will make the top 6. Yes, we have played badly in parts this season and I can see why people think that we can't make it, and to be honest it will take something really special to get us into that top 6.
However we are Burnley FC and 'amazing and unexpected' is our game.
Even the news today about midfielder Wade Elliott signing a new 3-year contract at Turf Moor has got the place buzzing. Some people say the club has a lack of ambition; I think they need to look again.
The 07/08 season has never failed to the deliver story lines, celebrations and heartbreak. Take last Saturday for example, Preston North End away we were 1-0 down after just 5 minutes well theres a story line for you. James O'Connor then pulled us right back into it before half time to start the celebrations! Then the heartbreak of them winning it 2-1, we have been there before and trust me we will be there again.
However remember some of the good times we have had.
11/8/07- West Brom at home, a packed Turf Moor full of noise. Burnley beating one of the best in the league 2-1 in a fantastic tussle.
18/9/07- Sheffield Wednesday away, a game we controlled from start to finish, we were looking the part, a real top class side.
24/11/07- Owen Coyle's first game, a taster of the attacking exciting football we would be watching in the future.
05/1/08 - One of Europe's elite came to town in Arsenal, and we yes we Burnley FC matched and even out played them in parts.
With just 6 games to go, 4 points is not a lot in this league. Ok we have had heartbreaks but we have had days when you have been proud to be a Claret!
