Two Whalley based businessmen Mike Beckett, Managing Director of Wilman Interiors, and Andrew Ronnan, the owner of The Sidings Business Park, have covered the cost of the match tickets for the former players and their wives.

Nine of the players namely, Adam Blacklaw, John Angus, Alex Elder, John Connelly, Jimmy McIlroy, Ray Pointer, Jimmy Robson, Brian Pilkington and Trevor Meredith will travel down with the two businessmen which means only Jimmy Adamson, Tommy Cummings and Bobby Seith won't be there of that team. Brian Miller of course sadly passed away two years ago last month.

Mike Beckett said: "The game on Monday is all about the future of Burnley Football Club, but how can we forget these great players from our illustrious history. I genuinely feel privileged to support this trip and have the opportunity to rub shoulders with true legends."

Andrew Ronnan added: "Let's hope that almost 50 years on from being crowned English Champions in 1960, these great Burnley footballers will be coming home from Wembley happy in the knowledge that their successors have secured top flight football for Turf Moor next season. It will be a tough game against Sheffield United but if we reach the standards we did in the second half at Reading then I am confident we will do it."
