Burley's departure makes no difference to Coyle

Burley survived after they failed to qualify for the World Cup Finals but friendly defeats to Japan and Wales, the latter after a shocker of a performance in Cardiff, saw him depart yesterday after speculation that his job was in doubt over the weekend.

The usual suspects have been linked with it including Walter Smith, Craig Levein and Little Billy Davies whilst Weary Whinger Craig Brown was touting Owen Coyle.

To be honest it always looked a non-starter for our manager. Why on earth would he want to leave the Premier League for the poisoned chalice that is the Scotland job?

And today he confirmed that he was going nowhere, just as he did last summer when Celtic made overtures.

"I love it at Burnley. My job is here and that's what I will look to continue to do," was the news from Coyle to the delight of the Burnley fans.

"I have got a job here to do what we are doing in the Premier League and I don't want any distraction ahead of the game against Aston Villa on Saturday. I am the Burnley manager. I have been in the position before when there's been advances from other clubs.

"I have always said I am loving everything I am doing at the football club and that remains the case, so I think that would tell everybody my feelings."
