Palace have confirmed Burley as the new man with Freedman in as his number two and this brings to an end a difficult time for the club when just a couple of weeks ago it looked as though they could face liquidation.
A new consortium has now taken over the club and Burley has replaced Paul Hart who came in to replace Neil Warnock last season and was left fighting relegation after the ten point deduction, a fight they won on the last day of the season when they drew at Sheffield Wednesday with Wednesday the one to go down.
Palace at this time have given no details regarding the appointment but it is expected that Burley will have signed a two year deal with the South London club.
