Brownhill and Evans get new clubs

Kyle Brownhill has joined Hyde

Brownhill joined the Clarets last summer from Stockport, the club who consider us to be their fiercest rivals. He joined the development squad as a left back but was released just before the end of last season.

He's been on trial at Hyde and just three days ago played against his old team mates in a pre-season game at Ewen Fields. Today he became one of seven signings they announced ahead of their season in the Vanarama Conference North, where they kick off with a home game against Oxford City.

Evans too was with Burnley for just a year having been released by our local neighbours Blackburn. He made his debut for the club in a pre-season game at Padiham whilst on trial before winning a one year deal at Turf Moor with the development squad.

He, like Brownhill, was released before the end of last season and has been training with Southport in pre-season, impressing manager Martin Foyle who told their official site: "Micah has trained well in the pre-season, he will offer a great deal in variety of areas for us and I am delighted he has agreed to join us."

He's expected to make his competitive debut for them when they kick off their new season next Saturday with a home game against Forest Green Rovers.
