Brown gets Preston job

Brown had been linked with the Burnley job since Brian Laws' departure but was never considered a favourite with the Burnley board and has now opted for a return to management with North End.

He's signed a contract until the end of next season and taken Brian Horton with him as his assistant. At his press conference this afternoon he admitted that it was a difficult time ahead and believed that Preston would need to win over half of their remaining games to avoid the drop to League One.
