Britannia opener for Clarets

The game at Stoke will be played on Saturday 15^th August whilst United will travel to Turf Moor three days later on Tuesday 18^th August. We will follow that up with a home game against Everton.

That first home game will be our first league fixture against United since Lou Macara scored the only goal of the game in 1976 to condemn us to relegation whilst just a few weeks earlier our last top flight visit to Stoke ended in a 4-1 defeat with Ray Hankin netting the Burnley goal.

It is a difficult start with visits to both Chelsea and Liverpool in the first five games whilst our games against Blackburn are away on 17th October and at home on 27th March.

Other key dates see us play Bolton at home on Boxing Day with a trip to Everton two days later, whilst Spurs travel to the Turf for the final game of the season. Our return against Manchester United comes on 16^th January 2010.
