Leon Knight - his penalty takes Brighton into Division One
The club who have nearly gone out of the league, been forced to move out of town and then came back to play in the less than adequate surroundings of the Withdean have just won their third promotion in four years.

We don’t have happy memories of the place, two up with the clock ticking down on our only visit we somehow contrived to throw two points away. The fans have to sit on temporary seating some distance away from the pitch, out in the open and charges an extortionate amount for the privilege.

But we have to face it again next season after an 84th minute penalty scored by Leon Knight won the day for the Seagulls in front of over 65,000 at Cardiff.

They are still a club in crisis though despite the win and are still struggling to get permission to build a new stadium at Falmer. It is in the hands of John Prescott. He bent the rules to allow the building of a new Franchise stadium and now the Brighton fans are hoping he will play fair with them. But for now it is the Withdean again.
