Brawls and a Milk Cup win for Conor Mitchell

Conor, who is just about to start his first season as a full time professional at Turf Moor played in one of their three games in the competition, a 2-1 win against Mexico in Coleraine on Wednesday that featured a brawl and four red cards.

Three Mexican players were sent off as was Northern Ireland's Robbie McDaid. Three of those players were dismissed following a brawl with a third Mexican dismissed towards the end of the game.

A second brawl broke out with around three or four minutes of the game remaining leading to the referee calling time.

Northern Ireland coach Stephen Craigan was far from happy. After the game he said: "It was not nice. There were young kids here from around the world. They were here to watch a football match; they do not expect to see that.

"Mexico did it last year. They had a man sent off for punching. They have a history of it. I have to be careful what I saw, but I would like to think Mexico will not be back at the Milk Cup."

Northern Ireland had previously beaten China, and tonight won that game against Canada to clinch the title.

Conor might have done some pointing during the brawls but other than that he behaved impeccably as you can see from the footage during Craigan's interview on the BBC.
