Branchy: Testimonial game and dinner

Last updated : 30 March 2007 By Tony Scholes
The game will be played on May Day Bank Holiday Monday the 7th May with a kick off time of 3:00 p.m. with the current squad taking on a 'Branchy Select XI' which will include players who have played alongside Branch during his eight and a half years as a Burnley player.

It will be the first testimonial game to be played at Burnley since Stan Ternent's in August 2004 and the first for a player since Alan Stevenson's, a game against Manchester City played over a quarter of a century ago on a night when the game ended with the two managers Burnley's Brian Miller and John Bond of Manchester City both on the pitch having come on as substitutes.

There are no names as yet for Branchy's team but there are plenty to choose from, in his time with the Clarets he's lined up alongside well over one hundred players. Admission to the game will be £8 adults and £4 concessions.

A dinner will be held for Branchy in the James Hargreaves Executive Suite at Turf Moor on Wednesday 18th April. Tickets for the dinner cost £25 and it includes a three course meal and entertainment from comedian Carl Schofield.

The evening will also include the presentations from the Golf Day played earlier that day. For more information please phone 07974 310099.
