Bradford City game off

The Club have now officially announced the postponement and the game was called off at 10:15 a.m.

The referee inspected the pitch where according to the club's web site ice was forming despite the undersoil heating having been on for the past three days.

The club say the referee was left with very little option.

This is not good news for Burnley Football Club, our next league game will be on 12th January and that will be four weeks after the last win. With just one point and a postponement from the last three games we really did need this game on.

I'm certain the club will provide further details later as to how the pitch is still unfit with ice despite the undersoil heating.

We have spoken with both clubs by telephone. Burnley informed us that the pitch was dangerous but Bradford City told us that they had been informed that the main reason was the condition of the surrounding roads. They also expressed to me (and have repeated this on their web site) their disappointment that Burnley Football Club gave them no warning of any pitch inspection.

At least we were not all kept waiting until 1:45 today as was the case last week at Rotherham.
