Andy Payton - second half hat trick in 2000
Last season saw us get within minutes of Wembley in the competition after kicking off the competition at Bury. This year we didn't play in the first round but went into the hat for the second round draw tonight.

We were drawn against Coventry and Hartlepool who were playing extra time after a 90 minute 0-0 draw at the Ricoh but a Boyd goal in extra time means we play the League One club at Victoria Park.

It will be our third meeting against Hartlepool in this competition, and all have come in this Millennium.

We played them in a two legged first round in 2000/01 season. We were 1-0 down at home in the first leg but a hat trick from Andy Payton helped us to a 4-1 win with Steve Davis also scoring.

Payton was on the scoresheet again in the second leg along with Andy Cooke but we lost it 3-2 on the night.

Four years ago we went out to them in the first round to a penalty given away by Wayne Thomas that led to him being sent off.

This season's tie at Hartlepool is expected to be played on Tuesday 25th August.
