Andy Lochhead - five goals last time we played Bournemouth in the FA Cup
Former Manchester United full back Denis Irwin and Everton goalkeeper Neville Southall made the draw this afternoon and it gives us a real chance of reaching the last sixteen if, and it is an if, we can beat Liverpool.

The Cherries have already reached the 4th round having already won three times at home. They beat Forest Green after a replay and then Carlisle before winning 2-1 against Chester City on Saturday with goals from Shaun Maher and Wade Elliott.

We last met Bournemouth in the FA Cup 39 years ago in the 3rd round in 1966 at a time when they were called Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic. Willie Irvine scored to earn us a 1-1 draw down at Dean Court but the replay was Andy Lochhead’s night in weather as bad as, if not worse than that the forced off last Friday’s tie.

Andy got five as we beat them 7-0 to set up a trip to Tottenham in the 4th round. Willie Irvine, who was to get a hat-trick in a 4-3 defeat at White Hart Lane, and Gordon Harris scored the other goals in front of a crowd of 21,743.

The full 4th round draw is:

Derby County v Watford or Fulham

Manchester United or Exeter City v Middlesbrough

Cardiff City or Blackburn Rovers v Colchester United

Chelsea v Birmingham City

West Ham United v Sheffield United

Oldham Athletic v Bolton Wanderers
