Bournemouth are latest to make Ings move

Ings joined Burnley in August 2011 on a four year contract but has had both of his seasons to date disrupted by knee injuries that required surgery. The second of them, suffered in a pre-season friendly at Rochdale,  kept him out of the side in the 2012/13 season until October.

He was drafted on to the subs bench in a late emergency at Bristol City and went on to feature in 32 league games in the season with 17 of those as a substitute.

It was former manager Eddie Howe who signed him and it is Howe who is looking to do the same again by taking him back to Bournemouth with Burnley believed to have turned down an offer for him yesterday that was similar to the money we paid to bring him from Bournemouth in the first place.

Bournemouth are not the first club to show an interest in the striker and I understand we turned an offer down for him recently from another north west Championship club.

The Telegraph reports that there was a gentleman's agreement between Burnley and Howe that he would not come back for any staff, playing or non-playing, until the end of the season.

Three of his staff, Jonathan Dalzell, Bryan Glover and Des Taylor have already left the club but all of his playing signings, other than Zavon Hines who left last summer, and Jon Stewart remain at Turf Moor.
