Boothroyd out at Watford

News has just reached us that Aidy Boothroyd has had his contract terminated at Watford following their disappointing start to the season and I have to say there will not be one shred of sympathy from me, just the opposite.

I'm delighted to see him out of the game and hopefully it will be some time before he gets back in. I've never forgiven him for his comments and his team's antics in our game at Vicarage Road in August 2005 when they scored with Brian Jensen down injured.

And there's no doubt about the things he gets up to on the touchline, and well done to Preston North End who had the guts to do something about it recently and formally complain.

Now Watford have finally had enough and their chairman Graham Simpson has said: "It is with some sadness that we have taken the decision, but the time is right for a new manager to take Watford forward.

"Both parties feel that his tenure at the club is simply at an end and, following discussions, we have mutually decided that a parting of the ways is in the best interests of all concerned."

Boothroyd leaves after a run of results that have seen Watford win just 12 of their last 48 league games.
