Booth gets Burnley debut

The 35 year old Booth is in just his second season on the Football League list and to date has refereed just two games at this level, and both of them were last season. Throughout this season he has been confined to games in League One and League Two and this will be the first time I have ever seen him in action.

He got his season off to a busy start by sending off Lincoln's Paul Morgan in their 2-2 draw at Chester in his first game, and he's since sent off three other players, all playing for the home team.

He's handed out 74 yellow cards in 29 games and 32 of those have been home players whilst 42 have gone to away players. More recently he's been doing some catching up, at one point he only seemed to be yellow carding away players.

I've no idea what sort of referee he is, he doesn't appear to be over the top with cards and hopefully he'll let the players get on with playing football.

He will be assisted by Alan Greaves (Yorkshire) and Eddie Tarry (Greater Manchester) whilst former Football League referee Eddie Evans (also Greater Manchester) will carry out the fourth official duties.
