Bolton want Glen

Sam Allardyce - keen to sign Glen
Whilst Gareth Farrelly and Delroy Facey have now played three games for the Clarets it has been a frustrating time for Glen who missed Bolton’s 2-0 win against Middlesbrough with a groin injury, he had been scheduled for a place on the bench, and is out of this weekend’s trip to Newcastle.

Allardyce though has said that he will need to part with some of his fringe players to allow him to make a permanent move for Little and said earlier,

"The one thing that would work for me would be to move some players out on permanent deals or on loan to bring Glen Little in dependent on whether he is better than the players who we are willing to release.

"I think there are a lot of Nationwide clubs who would want my players and because of the current financial crisis they will try and get them on the cheap. We would need to do some hard nosed bargaining with them. As last year proved we let eight players go so I’ve proved I can wheel and deal at that level."

This could all mean Farrell or Facey, or both, continuing at the Turf longer than their initial month leading to longer loan periods or even permanent signings.

Permanent deals do look unlikely though with Clarets’ Chairman Barry Kilby having said that the two Bolton players are on excessive wages. Currently they are at the Turf with Bolton continuing to pay their wages and the Clarets still paying for Glen.

Much will depend on how keen Allardyce is to sign Little. Could he finally get the player he tried to sign for Notts County six years ago when Waddle was prepared to let him go?
