Bolton tell Burnley to get their hands in their pockets

Facey will return to the Reebok after Saturday’s game at Sunderland as his three month loan spell comes to an end and the impression from there is that they are not prepared to help Burnley out any longer.

"It’s quite simple," said Bolton boss Allardyce. "If Burnley want Delroy then they are going to have to pay us a fee.

"We’ve helped Burnley out with Delroy, and Gareth Farrelly earlier on in the season, and now is the time to call Delroy back if they can’t afford him. It is up to Stan Ternent now to try and get his directors to release funds to sign the player."

Allardyce also said that it would take a fee of around £200,000 to persuade the Trotters to release him even though he admitted he is well down the pecking order for a first team place and is now sixth in the queue.

Although he did add that he was looking to find a player who could be a prolific scorer and that could be Facey if he was to return with an appetite of getting back into the first team.

One thing for certain is that Facey’s loan spell will end after the game at Sunderland, he is not eligible for a loan longer than three months. And surely with the transfer window applicable to the Premiership clubs I’m not sure how Bolton could sell him to us anyway until January.

Stan has made it clear that he wants to sign the player and said he had been discussing it with Allardyce. The Bolton boss has now come out on television and laid down the conditions – they want £200,000 for him.
