Apparently talks have been going on for a few weeks with Robbie’s agent as we look to try and extend his stay at Turf Moor, scheduled to come to an end during the summer of 2006.
According to the club those talks have been going on for four to six weeks, is that some strange way of telling us it is five weeks or do they not really know how long the talks have been going on?
Burnley fans will be pleased to hear that the club are trying to keep Blake, and will certainly hope that they are able to agree a new deal with him. The last thing we want is another Glen Little situation where the player said no to a new deal but then stayed to the end of his existing contract allowing a move on a free transfer.
It is somewhat interesting that the club have revealed this just an hour or so after they had announced that they had turned down a second bid from Wigan. Make of it all what you will, it all seems a bit difficult to believe.
