Blake is Deepdale Man of the Match

Robbie Blake
He was a clear winner in both the Man of the Match poll and the player ratings on the message board to give him the maximum six points towards the Clarets Mad Player of the Year title.

He polled almost a third of the vote in the poll with 32.4% to take first place whilst goalkeeper Brian Jensen, despite his bad error leading to their winning goal, was second with 17.3% of the vote. James O'Connor took third place with 13.3% of the vote.

In the player ratings it was again Robbie Blake well ahead. He had a rating of 6.68 out of 10 and was the only player to have a rating above the average figure of 6. Left back Jon Harley was in second place with a rating of 5.92 whilst a rating of 5.56 saw Wade Elliott in third place.

Elliott and O'Connor have now taken joint sixth place and are within touching distance of fourth place, but the Player of the Year is now a race between three players with no one else able to pass current leader Elliott.

In reality with third place Clarke Carlisle about to miss the next three games it means he is very unlikely to catch Elliott and that leaves the top two, Wade Elliott and Robbie Blake, as the only two in the race. Wade's twelve point lead should prove crucial.
