Blake did need a hernia operation

We had taken this information in good faith from a reliable Turf Moor source but within no time at all Stan Ternent was dismissing it as a load of nonsense. He admitted that Blake was still having some problem with his stomach but it should soon clear up.

This came just days after the game against Nottingham Forest when he had come on as a sub and then gone off again. The club first suggested it was a tactical move but then Stan confirmed it was because of his stomach. However we accepted Stan's word for it but two months later it was revealed that he was still having problems with the stomach injury.

The season came to an end and it was announced that Paul Weller would be having an operation on his cartilage and Ian Moore would be having a hernia operation, both of these injuries were known about.

Today though it has been revealed that Mooro might not need the operation after all and may just need treatment whilst Paul Weller will have his operation on Monday. AND Stan also revealed that Robbie Blake had his hernia operation last week.

Blake has clearly not been fit since joining the Clarets at the end of January and was unable to be the signing that everyone hoped would give us the much needed lift. It is now clear that he did require this hernia operation when we reported it in February and the good news is that he has now had the surgery and will hopefully, alongside Weller and Moore, be fully fit when the players return for pre-season training in July.
