Blades or Tigers in cup

They drew 1-1 at Bramall Lane on Saturday and will replay next week whilst our fifth round tie could still be three weeks away.

We've only ever once played Hull in the FA Cup and it proved to be a remarkable result. They beat us 3-0 in the third round at their old Anlaby Road ground in the 1920/21 season. It was remarkable in that we were in the middle of our thirty league games without defeat as we went on to win the League title and yet Hull were struggling towards the bottom of the second division.

FA Cup meetings with Sheffield United have been more frequent. We've met them in this competition on no less than eight occasions and have won four and lost four. Our last meeting was in the third round in the 1992/93 season when we drew 2-2 at Bramall Lane but lost the replay at home 4-2.

Two of the four wins are notable victories. In 1913/14 we met them in the semi-final. After a 0-0 draw we won the replay 1-0 to reach the final against Liverpool. And the score was 1-0 again in 1961/62, this time in the sixth round. A Ray Pointer goal took us to a semi-final win against Fulham and a Wembley FA Cup Final appearance.

We've no idea when this game would be played should we get through. We'll know more tonight once Arsenal have played Cardiff in their fourth round replay.

The full sixth round draw

Blackburn or Coventry v Chelsea
Swansea or Fulham v Manchester United
Cardiff or Arsenal or Burnley v Sheffield United or Hull
Everton v West Ham or Middlesbrough
