Bikey takes the honours at the Cottage

Andre Bikey
He won both the man of the match vote and also the player ratings on the message board, but those ratings were just about the lowest we've had in three seasons of using this method to determine the Clarets Mad Player of the Year.

In the man of the match, Bikey polled 38.8% of the vote to win it easily ahead of central defender and acting captain Clarke Carlisle who came in second with 11.7%. Kevin McDonald was third with 11.2% of the vote.

As for the player ratings, not one player reached six which is an average performance. Bikey was again the winner and he had a rating of 5.63 whilst in second place, and probably summing it all up, was Jack Cork who came on as a substitute with the Clarets already 3-0 down. His rating was 5.56 and Carlisle and Eagles were joint third with a rating of 5.50 out of 10.

That gives Bikey six points towards the Player of the Year, there are three points for Carlisle, two for Cork and one each for Eagles and McDonald. It makes little difference again to the table although Bikey has now moved within seven points of second place Steven Fletcher with Eagles stretching his lead by one more point to fourteen.
