Former Claret Vince Overson has formally left Burnley Football Club today after spending the last three months on gardening leave.
He departed a couple of days after Martin Dobson in October as the club set about reorganising the youth department ahead of the introduction of the Elite Player Performance Plan.
Vince was appointed as the club's Head of Youth Development in December 2004 and continued in that position until the appointment of Martin Dobson as the Director of Youth Development almost four years later when he then became the Centre of Excellence Manager.
However, both Vince and Dobbo moved on in October with Jason Blake currently in temporary charge and today everything has been tied up leading to the formal announcement of Vince's departure.
I've dealt closely with both of them since we introduced the Clarets Mad Youth Foundation in March 2006. The relationship I've had with them has been excellent and, having known Vince well for over thirty years it is very difficult for me to be objective.
As I did with Dobbo, I can do no more than wish him well.
