Big Sam could be first manager to go

Almost a third of voters opted for Allardyce who is just about to embark on his fourth season in charge at the Boleyn Ground, surviving despite being under some pressure from their supporters last season and also from owners Chas and Dave, one of whom recently favourited a tweet suggesting he should be sacked. That was David Gold but he eventually blamed jet lag for a supposed mistake.

But here on Clarets Mad, the former Blackpool, Bolton and Blackburn manager is a definite favourite having polled 31.9% of the vote.

That was some distance ahead of West Brom's Alan Irvine. The Scot was a surprise choice at The Hawthorns but a disappointing start could see his tenure short lived and he took second place with 19.6% of the vote.

Only two more reached double figures. Villa's Paul Lambert was third with 13.9% and Gary Monk, who replaced Michael Laudrup at Swansea last season, took fourth place with an 11% share of the vote.

The rest of them, for now, look secure, but things can change quickly, as we saw yesterday with the departure of Mark Robins at Huddersfield after one Championship defeat, albeit a heavy one at home.
