Big day for Burnley and Penny

A year ago tomorrow Burnley fans sat and waited for news on a work permit appeal hearing as the Clarets looked to sign Albanian international Besart Berisha. Today we're back in front of an appeals panel as we try to convince them that a work permit should be awarded to allow us to sign Peruvian goalkeeper Diego Penny.

The application for a permit failed, although manager Owen Coyle felt he met the required criteria and it should have been awarded. The club appear confident and they are the ones armed with the information after presumably involving specialists in the field.

There's been no indication of what time the hearing will be held and so there can be no idea what time we'll know. In Berisha's case it was mid-afternoon, but three years ago we were into the evening before news broke of the decision when we failed to obtain a permit for Luton Shelton.

But one way or another - and at some time or other - we should know today whether we've got ourselves a new goalkeeper.
