Besart could be out for six weeks

He sustained a knee injury playing in Albania's friendly win against Malta last week. He's been called up again for their Euro 2008 qualifier against Holland in two weeks time but he won't make that one.

Steve Cotterill said: "He hurt his knee playing for Albania and it is a little more serious than we first thought. It could be a five or six weeker and we need to see the specialist on that one this Thursday."

He wasn't the only one missing last night. We knew Gabor Kiraly was out with his dead leg, and that Kyle Lafferty was starting his suspension but we were also without Michael Duff (abductor strain) and Jay Rodriguez (groin) whilst illness kept Jon Harley away from the ground.

Cotterill will be hoping some of these players are fit enough to be involved at Colchester, although it still wouldn't be a massive surprise to see a new face in the squad ahead of the game.
