Bes on the run

Besart Berisha
Berisha played a part in the pre-season programme but didn't feature in the team when the league season got underway, although he was named as a substitute for the Carling Cup tie at Grimsby.

Then came the injury playing for his country against Malta and it looked to have ruled him out for the season. However, he's made excellent progress following surgery and has been seen working with the physios as part of his rehabilitation, and now he's going to join them for a but of a run in Blackpool.

A bit of a run did I say? Over thirteen miles would be more accurate as he takes part in the Great North West Half Marathon this Sunday to be staged in Blackpool, and there will be three members of the club staff running alongside him. He'll be joined by physios Andy Mitchell and Claire Judd and sports scientist John Brannan who analyses all the ProZone stats.

They'll be raising some money too for local youngster Josh Ford for the special artificial legs he needs. So good luck to the four of them and especially Bes as he moves closer to pulling on that claret & blue shirt for the first time since those pre-season games.
