Bertie to make draw

Wayne Biggins
Biggins was signed by John Bond at the beginning of 1984 and was straight into the first team in place of the injured Kevin Reeves. He'd signed from Matlock in a deal worth £7,500 and a friendly game against them.

Aged just 22 he did really well, he scored eleven goals before the end of the season and the following season netted twenty-one goals as we dropped into the bottom division.

Early in that first Fourth Division season he was sold to Norwich with Derrick Parker coming in as his replacement. We made a tidy profit on him with Norwich paying £40,000 for a player who had been with the Clarets just 20 months yet had set himself up for a good career with 37 goals in 94 appearances.

His league career took him to such as Manchester City, Celtic and Stoke before ending at Wigan after which he moved into non-league football.

I think tomorrow will be the first time he's been back to Turf Moor to make the half time draw.
