Bermingham goes back to City

He joined the Clarets back in August, initially for a month, and made just two first team appearances in that month. The first of them was at Watford when he played out wide in a depleted Burnley side and that proved to be his only start for us.

The loan was extended for a further month but just two substitute appearances, totalling only a handful of minutes, followed in the league wins against Ipswich and Wolves and coming on for Ade Akinbiyi towards the end of the Molineux victory proved to be his last appearance.

It is suggested that the club chose to allow him to return and with a bigger squad to choose from than at any time previously this season his chances of adding to those appearances would not have been high.

Karl will now be hoping to impress Stuart Pearce enough in the City reserves as he looks to win another contract at the end of his current deal which comes to an end at the end of this season.
