Berisha gets ablösefrei at Bielefeld

The Albanian international joined them at the start of the 2009/10 season after failing to make it in three years at Burnley. He signed for us in the summer of 2007 following his wonderful showing for Albania in the international against England 'B' at Turf Moor.

It was a signing that had the Burnley fans excited but no sooner had the 2007/08 season started than he suffered a cruciate ligament injury in an international and that ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

In pre-season in 2008 he scored a sensational goal at Accrington but manager Owen Coyle dismissed it at a question and answer night, claiming it was nothing compared to his goal in Belfast against Glentoran.

During that season, he twice got Berisha out on loan, firstly to Rosenborg and then AC Horsens. He wasn't at Wembley for the play off final but returned for pre-season training. However, it was soon time for him to move on and, with a year remaining on his contract, he was sold to Armenia Bielefeld without ever playing a competitive game for Burnley.

He's been in and out of the side there, and has scored just twice in two season. This has led to his release and he is now searching for a new club.
